Firefighter Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work lawfully in the United States
- No felony convictions
- Must be 21 years of age, and under 35 years of age at time of application, or as otherwise exempt by statute
- High school diploma (or its equivalent)
- Valid driver’s license
- MUST be a licensed/certified IDPH Paramedic (EMT-P) or National Paramedic at time of conditional offer of employment
- Individuals not currently in possession of their paramedic license may apply and participate in the testing process if they are currently enrolled in a paramedic program or are currently applying to a paramedic program.
- Illinois Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate issued by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM)
- Individuals not currently in possession of this certification may apply if they are currently in a fire academy or are currently applying to one.
- Must provide proof of successful completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) with Ladder Climb Certification conducted by a licensed agency within 12 months immediately prior to written exam date (06/08/2023 – 06/08/2024) and at time of conditional offer of employment
