Edward L. Gilbert Co., LPA is owned and operated by Attorney Ed Gilbert. The firm is in general practice, concentrated in the area of employment law and civil rights litigation. The firm is seeking to hire an experienced Office Manager.
The role includes a combination of general office, legal administrative, and technology management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible, organized, professional and very tech savvy.
The following skills and experience are required to be considered for the position:
- Two or more years of experience working in a law office environment and at least one year of management experience.
- Knowledgeable in MS Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent spelling and typing skills.
- Experience in various Court filing systems.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
Job responsibilities:
- Drafting monthly client invoices using Microsoft Excel.
- Managing office staff and day-to-day operations.
- Supervising support staff.
- Preparing office supply orders for approval.
- Answering phone calls.
- Managing office equipment and facilities.
- Drafting letters and other communications.
- Paper and electronic filing, client database maintenance.
- Recruiting and assisting in hiring law clerks and other temporary positions.
- Managing attorney calendar including trial dates, hearings, and meetings and travel.
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks as assigned, delegating when appropriate.
- Performing accounting functions as needed, such as income reports.
- Preparing and shipping Amazon book sales.
- Managing Attorney Gilbert’s caseload and docket.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Physical requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must have reliable transportation to 3070 W. Market Street, Suite 100, Akron, Ohio 44333
