Where I Went, What I Learned; Wooster Shares Their Transformative Travel Experiences – Kailey Schwallie

Kailey Schwallie: Senior Assistant of Volunteer Engagement

“I learned about cultures, histories, and social issues I had previously not known much about.”

Where I Went:

Europe:

Berlin, Paris, St. Petersburg, Rome, Barcelona, London, Amsterdam

Why I Went:

I always wanted to study abroad and had never been to Europe.

What I Learned:

I worked for years to save money for my study abroad experience, knowing that one day I would make my dream of going abroad a reality. I was lucky enough to do so through Wooster and IES, selecting an amazing program based in Berlin. The program also took me to Paris and St. Petersburg and allowed me to travel extensively in my free time. The program helped me complete a second minor (Sociology) and I learned about other cultures, histories, and social issues through the courses I took, the people I met, and the experiences I had while abroad. Experiencing another culture first-hand became a passion of mine, and I still travel abroad as often as I can!
