Peace Corps
The Peace Corps is looking for American graduates to spend two years working with them in developing countries all over the world. Students who’ve studied abroad, especially in developing countries, will have a leg up during the application process.
Note: Even though those who work with the Peace Corps are called “Volunteers,” the position comes with a generous stipend upon completion, and the Peace Corps pays for living expenses during the two years of service. While you won’t become wealthy during these two years, you should come out ahead financially – plus you’ll have had a life changing experience partnering with a developing nation on important community growth projects!
The College of Wooster is a host of the Peace Corps Prep program. Students who’ve studied abroad have already completed at least one requirement of this program! Learn more about how you can earn the Peace Corps Prep Certificate from the Peace Corps while at the College of Wooster and increase your chances of acceptance into the Peace Corps. While the Peace Corps is only an option for U.S. citizens, the Peace Corps Prep program is open to everyone who’d like to strengthen their ability to work in international service! Doubtless the internationally-recognizable PCP Certificate will be a strong addition to any resume. The Global Impacts Pathway is also an excellent Wooster opportunity for those seeking a career in international development or service.
