The Summer Associate Intern will work closely with attorneys and legal staff to support ongoing personal injury cases. The internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain practical legal experience, develop research and writing skills, and contribute to meaningful work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct legal research on personal injury statutes, case law, and regulations.
- Draft motions, pleadings, and correspondence under the supervision of attorneys.
- Assist in preparing case files, including organizing documents and exhibits for depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Review and summarize medical records, police reports, and other case-related documents.
- Participate in client interviews, case evaluations, and settlement discussions.
- Observe court proceedings, depositions, and mediations when appropriate.
- Collaborate with attorneys on discovery, including drafting interrogatories and document requests.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the legal team.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an accredited law school. 2L preferred.
- Strong academic credentials and demonstrated interest in personal injury law.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain client confidentiality.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
