Manufacturing Engineer Intern Responsibilities & Qualifications
The manufacturing engineer intern shall be pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. It will be a technical resource for the manufacturing area and report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.
Expected Responsibilities
- Perform Time Studies for the different processes.
- Coordinate troubleshooting of products across SMT Assembly, Manual Assembly & Housing (MASH), Potting, Conformal Coating & TLAM
- Involve in design for manufacturability
- Control of incoming & in-process materials used in manufacturing.
- Set up, program & maintenance of:
- Solder Paste Printing Equipment.
- SMT automated pick and place assembly equipment.
- SMT Reflow Ovens, & Temperature Profiling.
- Laser cut equipment
- Implement and document new product SMT assembly procedures
- Able to run the SMT Area Equipment in emergencies occasions when operator is not available.
- Provide engineering support & solutions to day-to-day operation of SMT Assembly, MASH, Potting, Conformal Coating & Top-Level Assembly-Mechanical [TLAM]
Qualifications & Experience
SMT electronic assembly manufacturing experience. Further qualifications include:
- Self-motivated, proactive. Team Player. Able to work outside work hours when required.
- SMT automated placement [pick& place] equipment programming experience
- Front end & Back-end experience
- SMT experience on Design of stencil, fixtures, carriers, and tooling for electronic assemblies [PCAs].
- Experience / Knowledge using 3D CAD [CAM 350]. SolidWorks experience.
- 3D printing exposure.
- Maintenance Experience in SMT placement equipment, Reflow Oven, & Solder Paste Printer.
- Potting and Conformal Coating experience
• Facility / Assembly Floor Layout Experience.
- AS9100 or ISO9001, & inertial systems experience a plus, but not necessarily.
- IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, DESIGN STANDARDS experience a plus, but not necessarily
