BSA Department Summary:
The BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) department ensures compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and other financial crime laws. It monitors transactions, files reports such as Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), and reviews alerts for suspicious activity. This department is essential for detecting and preventing illegal activities and maintaining the bank’s regulatory integrity.

- Active Participation: Attend and contribute to BSA team meetings and daily tasks consistently throughout the internship.
- Professional Presence: Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance and engage effectively with team members and supervisors in the office environment.
- Timely Communication: Provide regular updates on assigned projects, seek feedback proactively, and address any challenges or questions promptly to ensure smooth progress.
Essential Functions/Duties:
- Promote Corporate Values: Exemplify LINK’s values of Live, Integrity, Nurture, and Knowledge in all activities.
- Compliance and Monitoring: File Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), review system alerts for unusual activity, and ensure compliance with watch list alerts and new account documentation.
- Reporting and Analysis: Assist with reporting projects and demonstrate strong expertise in Excel to support various analytical tasks.
Requirements:
- Availability: Required to be present in person five days a week from mid-May to early August.
- Academic Status: Must be a current student at an accredited college or university, preferably at the Junior or Senior level.
- Intern Activities: Will engage in various activities with fellow interns, including a volunteer day, lunch-and-learns, field trip to Camp Hill Solution Center, and a final project.
Preferred College Courses:
- Financial Accounting: Understanding of financial statements and reporting.
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance: Focused on AML regulations and practices.
- Forensic Accounting: Techniques for investigating financial discrepancies and fraud.
- Business Law: Knowledge of legal aspects relevant to financial operations.
- Econometrics or Statistics: Skills in analyzing and interpreting data patterns.
- Corporate Finance: Insight into financial management and risk assessment.
