One of the hallmarks of a College of Wooster education is the close mentoring from faculty and staff that Wooster students receive. By graduation most Wooster students can name a group of College individuals that were instrumental in helping them grow both individually and academically.

It is no surprise, then, that Wooster faculty-led programs abroad (TREKs) are a highly valued part of the Global Engagement endorsed program list. TREK programs (Think, Research, Engage, and Know) are for-credit courses allow students special insight into one or more faculty member’s unique expertise and experience. Students benefit from daily instruction and curated experiences over the course of a one-to-four-week off-campus program.

The Global Engagement Office encourages all faculty members to consider developing and implementing a TREK program. While this kind of intense teaching experience may not be for everyone,  some faculty consider it to be one of the most enjoyable highlights of their teaching careers!
